John H. Sweetland, CHC

Mr. Sweetland has been in healthcare planning and consulting for more than 15 years, with the last 13 as a planning consultant. He has been involved in consulting engagements in the areas of facility planning, strategic planning and hospital operations. His project work has spanned the range from major space planning and functional programming studies for replacement facilities, to master plan studies for small rural hospitals. Past clients have included large clinics, systems and academic medical centers. John’s previous positions include an Administrative post at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton Florida and founding Principal and owner of both Sweetland Associates and the Sweetland Northland Health Group.

He has performed consulting studies internationally, working on various projects in Southeast Asia. His approach to consulting has always stressed innovation and adaptability while working collaboratively with the client. Mr. Sweetland firmly believes that the best projects result from the frequent and open dialog between consultant and client. John is a third-generation consultant, having followed his father and grandfather in this arena. He manages the firm's Florida office while practicing nationwide. John has Master’s Degrees from Boston College and the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the American Association of Healthcare Consultants (AAHC).
